All prospective students at East Catholic High School take both placement tests and subject tests as part of the admission process. Please contact our admissions office at 860-649-5336, ext. 6238 if you have questions about these tests.

Take Our Placement Test

All incoming freshmen and transfer students must take our placement test. Prospective students who take one of our fall placement test are automatically considered for merit-based tuition assistance. Check out our test dates below and register online.

Please note that the placement test being offered at East Catholic is not the HSPT. It is created by our faculty to best understand the placement needs of our students. Students who take the HSPT at other schools are still eligible for enrollment; however, to be considered for a merit scholarship, students must take the East Catholic placement test. Students who do not take the East Catholic placement test will need to take it pending acceptance before they can schedule classes.

Subject Tests

To ensure a more equitable process and comprehensive review of current levels of proficiency and understanding, students in our feeder schools will take the subject test at East Catholic High School. Be advised that students may not use calculators during the test. Review packets for all exams are available in the sidebar of this page.

Please contact Adrienne Andrews, math department chair, with questions about the Algebra Subject Test.
