Parents Association

The East Catholic High School Parents Association is heavily involved in planning, carrying out, and assisting in fundraisers as well as many special events that heavily impact and support our school family. Please join us as we take part in the following projects and school functions:

Back to School Night
Volunteers provide refreshments and greet families in support of the school that hosts this event.

Open House
As parent volunteers, we support the Admissions Office with this event that provides prospective students and their families an opportunity to tour the school campus and meet our dedicated faculty and staff.

Holly Social
The Holly Social is an annual event sponsored by the ECHS Parents Association and held in December on the night of the Christmas Concert and Art Show. This event gives parents an opportunity to socialize with one another while enjoying light refreshments. Parents can also purchase various winter greenery items and participate in drawings for the many festive themed baskets.

Grandparents Appreciation Day
This is a daytime, biennial event during which our school and students honor the grandparents of ECHS students. Parent volunteers assist the Advancement Office with this event.

School Counseling Programs
The ECHS School Counseling Department hosts four programs throughout the year to assist juniors and seniors and their families with the college search and admissions process. Parents provide refreshments and general assistance to the School Counseling Department.

New Parent Orientation
We assist the ECHS faculty and staff in welcoming new families to our school.

New Families Picnic
We support the Admissions Office in welcoming new families to our community during this event.

Office Help
The Advancement Office frequently distributes large mailings and often needs our help with various tasks such as sorting and stuffing envelopes.

Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents

The Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents was established by the Archbishop of Hartford and the Bishops of Bridgeport and Norwich. Its purpose is to represent Catholic schools in Connecticut at all levels of government. The federation is committed to educating Catholic school parents and the Catholic school community regarding the rights and issues concerning the education of children attending Catholic schools.

The federation will work to protect, preserve, and expand the rights and guarantee that children in Catholic schools are provided the public services to which they are entitled to the fullest extent of current law and expand those rights so that more children have the opportunity to attend Catholic schools.

The federation has established the Grassroots Advocacy Network, which is designed to organize Catholic school parents, alumni, and those committed to Catholic education and make them aware of the issues confronting Catholic schools.
