Welcome to East Catholic High School. Begin your East experience here! Please complete the information at the button below, and an admissions team member will reach out.

If you are ready to apply, see the information below to get started.

Incoming Freshmen

We look forward to meeting prospective students and families as they navigate the admissions process. The first step is an entrance exam. Please see our online entrance exam registration for more information.

Please note that the entrance exam at East Catholic is not the HSPT. Our faculty creates our entrance exam to best understand the placement needs of our students. Students who take the HSPT at other schools are still eligible for enrollment; however, to be considered for a merit scholarship, students must take the East Catholic entrance exam. Students who do not take the East Catholic entrance exam will need to take it pending acceptance before they can schedule classes.

Private tours are available by appointment only. Please contact our admissions assistant at 860-649-5336, ext. 6456 to register for yours today!

Your next step in the admission process is completing a student file. The completed file includes the following:

  • A completed ECHS application
  • East Catholic entrance exam
  • Student school performance documents, such as report cards, progress reports, standardized test scores, and evaluations
  • Special education plan, if applicable

Note to Parents of Incoming Freshmen

To maintain compliance with state guidelines, please do not schedule the required physical exam prior to July 1. The completed health assessment record forms are due before the end of ninth grade and must be completed by the physician at the time of the exam. Please turn them in directly to the school nurse, not the athletics department.

Transfer Students

We understand that choosing a high school is an important decision and welcome transfer students for spring or fall entry. Limited spots are available, so we advise reaching out as soon as possible for us to discuss your family’s unique needs.

A complete file for a transfer student includes:

  • A completed ECHS application
  • Most current grades
  • Grade transcript
  • Standardized test scores (e.g., HSPT, PSAT)
  • A writing sample: personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation (preferably from an English teacher and a counselor)
  • Current freshmen transfers must take the East Catholic entrance exam
  • Additional information as needed

Please complete the online application and provide the remaining paperwork to the admissions assistant. For more information, call 860-649-5336, ext. 6456.
