Arts Overview

The Fine Arts Program at East Catholic is filled with an expansive list of courses, clubs, and extracurricular activities. Our Fine Arts Department faculty and staff are professional musicians, artists, and art scholars who love what they do and teach our comprehensive arts curriculum with enthusiasm, professionalism, and authority.

ECHS Fine Arts Mission Statement

The East Catholic Fine Arts Department is committed to creating and supporting a diverse and advanced curriculum that encourages all students to reach their potential by developing an understanding and appreciation that will lead to a life-long involvement in the arts. Within this curriculum, we provide a program of frequent performances, exhibitions, and related events designed to give all students the opportunity to develop as artists and enrich our campus and community. The faculty of the Fine Arts Department is comprised of professional artists and scholars who share a passion for teaching and believe in a diverse and technologically advancing world where the arts reflect cultural complexities and values.

Art

The ECHS Fine Arts Department is proud to include a comprehensive education of many aspects of art. From the basics of drawing to advanced college prep sculpture, the artists on our staff teach to all skill levels in a variety of genres.

Music

Whether you are a beginning musician or advanced, the offerings of the Instrumental Music Department are extensive. Some of our recent accomplishments are listed below.

  • ECCE: Awarded a platinum rating seven consecutive years and awarded first place for six consecutive years at Fantastic Music Festivals
  • Chamber Choir: Awarded a platinum rating and first place at Fantastic Music Festivals
  • Concert Band: Numerous top three finishes at Fantastic Festivals
  • String Orchestra: Numerous top three finishes at Fantastic Festivals
  • Jazz Band: First place at the Berklee College of Music High School Jazz Festival, Greenwich High School/Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival, and the UMass Jazz Festival
