Equestrian

East Catholic added a new varsity sport, an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) equestrian team, in the 2016-17 school year. IEA includes teams all over the country. Teams compete locally to accumulate points to compete in the regional finals in February. Points from the regional finals allow students to compete in the zone finals, then onto the nationals.

You do not have to have your own horse to participate! Riders compete on safe but unfamiliar horses at shows throughout the year and draw a horse’s name to ride prior to each class at the horse shows.

The East Catholic High School team began practicing at Full Circle Farm in Manchester, Connecticut, during the 2017 summer. The riding program is a two-season sport beginning in the fall and ending in the spring. For more information, please contact ECHS IEA team moderator Sarah Adanti at (860) 649.5336, ext. 6234.
