Clubs and activities play an essential role in the education of the whole student. At East Catholic we are fortunate to be able to offer our students a variety of choices from which to choose.

Ambassadors: Host student visitors, visit area schools, and help plan events such as the freshman and family picnic and the incoming freshman social.

*Art & National Art Honor Society: Get together with friends who love creating beautiful things. Fulfill your creative potential. Hold workshops and participate in group projects.

Book Club: By reading and discussing books, this club strives to broaden literary awareness and have fun sharing ideas in an intellectual setting. 

Bowling Club: Enjoy a great time with a fun activity. 

Chess Club: Students learn about and enjoy playing chess.

Class Executive Boards: Be a leader in your class. Help plan events. 

Computer Science Club

Debate Team: Compete with other Connecticut schools in the ancient tradition of forensics and debate. 

Environmental Club/Project Earth: Students participate in activities and plan events that foster good stewardship of God’s creations. Students also address environmental issues at East Catholic.

Film Society: Students meet to view and discuss films of historical, cultural, and social significance while studying the art of film making. 

FIRST Robotics Team: FIRST Robotics is a CIAC recognized sport. Utilize your STEM skills to conceptualize, design, build, wire, program, and operate a robot capable of competing at regional, national, and worldwide events. FIRST is more than robots! We also need students who like art, writing, graphic design, photography, marketing, social media, accounting, business, community service/outreach, and fundraising.

History/World Affairs Club: Students participate in Model United Nations. Engage in History Day. Explore and discuss interesting videos.

Human Rights: Students learn about situations in the world where people are denied their basic rights. Hold events to raise awareness and help communities. 

International Students Club: International students share their gifts, talents, and experience with the East Catholic community through events and activities. 

Intramural Flag Football: Seasonal fun with friends who love football.

Literary Magazine ECLAT: Students become a part of our magazine through writings, photography, and art. 

Liturgical Choir & Ensemble:  We support all school liturgies. We welcome all singers and instrumentalists. Rehearsals are Wednesday mornings beginning at 7:00 a.m. (Moros)

Math Team: Compete against other Connecticut schools at Math meets.

Mock Trial: Be a part of the East Catholic team to compete in a mock trial setting—you could be a lawyer, victim, witness, etc. 

*Music Honor Society (Tri-M): Students are involved in promoting and strengthening the school’s music program. 

*National Honor Society: New members of the Monsignor Robert W. Doyle Chapter of the National Honor Society are inducted in the spring of their junior or senior year. Membership is based on a student's cumulative GPA as well as a faculty evaluation of a student's leadership, character, and service. Students who fail to maintain the membership requirements for National Honor Society during their senior year are disqualified from membership. In addition to recognizing academic achievement, East Catholic also has established chapters of the National Art Honor Society and the National Music Honor Society. 

Newspaper ECHO: Help publish our school newspaper. We need writers, editors, reporters, and photographers.

*Peer Ministry: Open to juniors and seniors. Our goal is to create a community of faith, fun, and justice. 

*Pep Band 

Ping Pong Club: This club provides all students with the opportunity to compete in a friendly, non-contact, indoor sport activity. 

Science Club: Take an interest in your environment—recycle, field trips, guest speakers. 

Ski Club: Parents and students enjoy skiing during the winter season.

Social Action Club: Make a difference in our community by tutoring and helping in community projects.

*Stage Band (Jazz Band II) 

Stage East: We need actors, players, tech crew, stage hands, and musicians for two annual productions. 

*Stretch Leaders: Open to selected juniors and seniors. These leaders act as liaisons between the school and our partner service agencies. 

Student Government: Plan dances, pep rallies, and other events. Represent your homeroom.

*Student Life: Work on internal service projects within the school for the betterment of the East Catholic community.

Talent Show: The All School Talent Show is a yearly event that allows students to participate in and showcase their talents. 

Yoga Club: Open to all students. 

World Cultural Club: Students learn about and host school activities that celebrate different cultures, societies, and nationalities. 

Yearbook AETOS: Be a part of an award winning yearbook staff.
