MANCHESTER, CT, December 6, 2019 - East Catholic’s Honors Choir will sing before an international audience on December 14, kicking off play between the US Women's National Hockey and the Canadian National Hockey Team. The choir, known as ECCE, will perform the national anthems of both countries before the match at the XL Center in Hartford. The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports. It is the first of five stops in the 2019 Team USA Champions Rivalry Series. A large contingency of East Catholic High School students and parents is expected in the stands to cheer on the choir.
“It is a tremendous honor for our students and our school to perform the National Anthem for the US Women's National Team. This will be an experience that they will always remember. I am so proud of them!" said Rob Link, East Choral Director. ECCE is an audition-only select choir made up of students in grades 10 through 12. ECCE has been awarded a platinum rating seven consecutive years and awarded first place for six consecutive years at Fantastic Music Festivals. They have performed at the XL Center, The Hartford Yard Goats, and numerous functions and ceremonies throughout the Greater Manchester area.
