Program of Studies

East Catholic is committed to providing the best college preparatory program available.  By requiring four years of English and religion, three years of math, science and social studies, and two years of a foreign language, as well as health, physical education and as many electives as possible, the school strives to produce a well-rounded student who is grounded in the best of the Catholic educational tradition. 

The Honors Program offers courses of substantial academic rigor throughout all four years at East Catholic. In addition, numerous Advanced Placement courses are offered, all of which have been approved by the College Board in the 2008-2009 audit.

Graduation Requirements:

Academics - 24 credits are required for graduation:

4 Religion
4 English
4 Mathematics (beginning with the graduating class of 2014)
3 Science (two lab sciences required, one of which is Biology)
3 Social Studies (one of which is United States History)
2 World Language
.5 Fine Arts (beginning with the graduating class of 2014)
3.5 Electives

Also required:
1.0 Physical Education
.50 Freshman Skills
.25 Health
Service - As part of the religion curriculum students are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service (10 hours per year).
